In 1972 Joe Duffy was appointed the first solo BMW Retail Centre in Ireland, the company, founded by the late Joe Duffy and Bill Thompson opened its doors with only four members of staff. That year (1972) 180 BMW’s were sold in the 26 counties of Ireland (of which Joe Duffy sold 90).
In February 2004 there was further expansion for Joe Duffy with a move to a new facility just off the North Road, Exit 5 M50. This coincided with the appointment as a Main MINI retailer and a Main Motorrad retailer. In November 2018 the Joe Duffy Group continued to invest in the BMW brand with a move to a brand new state-of-the-art BMW facility in Charlestown. The facility has a 41 Car Showroom, 31 Service Bays, 100 Used Car Display and 250 Car Parking Spaces.
The facility is an approved BMW sustainable dealership with a reduced environmental impact.
